Laughing kookaburra

I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by excellent photographers and I’m very grateful when they generously allow me to work from their photos. This one stood out particularly for the posture of the bird. I immediately thought it would make a beautiful painting. It’s one of my favourite Australian birds, I love it for its mischievous cheeky attitude and the raucous laughing it makes usually at the crack of dawn.
