A little bit about me...

Emily was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1969 and now calls Townsville home in tropical North Queensland. She achieved an Associate Diploma in Art at the North Adelaide School of Art in 2003.

An artist who feels a strong connection to watercolour for its fluidity, transparency and vibrant colours. She is a drawer of paint, liking water based media’s ability to create expressive and immediate results. She works quickly and expressively preferring to catch a moment while the paint is fresh.

Printmaking also features in Emily’s areas of interest. Being a drawer at heart, printmaking is a close second to drawing with its ability to create interesting mark making and strong graphic images.

North Queensland’s diverse flora and fauna provides Emily with endless inspiration. Her concerns for conservation are the backbone that encourages her to paint hoping to bring awareness for the importance of diversity and preservation of life here in Australia and on our planet.
