Imari and eggplants

This painting came after a harvest of eggplants from my own garden. I really love their elongated shape and shiny purple almost black colour. I imagined their deep purple colour would go nicely with the ultramarine blue of a Japanese Imari bowl as explains the title 'Imari and eggplants'
