Preening Barking Owl

In the dappled light of a tamarind forest along the rivers edge two owls were resting, a Barking owl and a Rufous owl. My new camera was getting a workout. This Barking owl would occasionally peer down at me with one enormous eye open then go back to preening itself, occasionally the odd feather wafted gently away on the breeze. It was a very good morning as I knew there were going to be a few paintings from these beautiful birds.
